Mastering is the last chance to enhance your recording. It is where all of the trace artifacts are ironed out, all of the songs are balanced into one cohesive work, and the final product is enhanced with compression, stereo imaging, and equalization among other processes. What comes out of mastering is what goes into your customer's hands and we take that very seriously. There are many perks to having us master for you, below you find a few:
Compression and EQWhat most people look for in mastering is the loudness and presence that is found in a mainstream recording. This is accomplished many ways, but primarily with compression and equalization. The use of these tools requires a fundamental skill set in order to create a good master. In addition to providing loudness, a good master should bring the mix into focus, keep the bass nice and tight, and bring out any of the crucial details overlooked in the mix. Doing it requires finesse and restraint and it is often over done. We will take our time to ensure that your project is mastered with the care it deserves and attention to detail it requires.

Honest ComparisonAs part of our mastering process, we require that you provide us with three songs from other artists that you would like the final master to sit well with if the tracks were played back side by side. This allows us to understand your expectations and see things from your perspective. While it is impossible to make any master sound just like another one given the dizzying array of variables, we will do whatever we can to make sure that your master fits into your vision, and just like our mixing services, you will be able to check in on our progress from any web browser.

Multiple Format MasterTechnology has forced those who master to accommodate what some see as an inferior format, MP3. Here at No Heart Studios, we see the MP3 format as a paramount part of any artist's master. So much so that we do a completely separate master just for MP3 encoding. If you have ever ripped a "loud" CD master to MP3 then you already know what we're talking about. It is a fact that the MP3 format requires a completely different approach to mastering than a CD master does. We are also happy to provide a master encoding of your tracks in any other format you specify.
